In 1923, Mario and Irma Colombo founded Manifattura Mario Colombo & C. in Monza, Italy. The company was closely connected to the region, a hub for felt hat and leggings production. The first significant product made by Colmar was the felt hat. In 1952, Zeno Colò wore the "Colò" jacket at the Olympics. First created in the 1940s, this jacket remained in the collection until the 1970s, marking Colmar's entrance into the skiing world as a universally recognized brand. In 1999, the first Colmar monobrand store opened in Megève, France, followed by other stores in Milan, Paris, and well-known ski resorts. Colmar Originals was launched in 2009, a lifestyle line featuring the now-famous down jackets and more urban jackets, expanding over the years to include sweatshirts, t-shirts, and shoes. Today, the company is led by the founder's grandchildren - Mario, Giulio, and Carlo - representing the third generation, and deeply rooted in the Monza area.
